What I do

Software Product Management

Success of digital products and services is based on a clear value proposition. In the best case, your product is derived from your business strategy and supports or transforms your business. Creating and managing value propositions, product roadmaps and portfolios became my favourite assignments during the last years. Aside my experience around product and service development I am a certified software product manager and have joined the International Software Product Management Association as a fellow member.

CRM & Marketing Automation

Running a multi-partner loyalty program with more than 18M households for more than 7 years laid the groundwork for my CRM experience. The change from sender focused campaigns to customer triggered communication has been part of my daily work until today. Meanwhile, the challenges of rule-based communication do not only include decisions on technology but also new models for co-operation of marketing, sales and IT departments. This is where digital transformation also start a transformation of your organization.

Identity Management

I believe that identity management is one key for success of any other initiatives you may run. Identifying customers in the digital world enables you to personalize your communication, to simplify your payment and to streamline customer experience across different touchpoints. Many companies run different applications based on different databases what often leads to a poor inconsistent customer experience on digital channels. I was involved in different ID projects around SSO challenges, also including social login.

Digital Business Consulting

Companies in the telecommunication, travel and retail industries mandate me with planning and implementing customer centric software solutions in complex organizations and IT landscapes. I often work in cross functional and international teams of IT, product management, marketing, sales and even strategy departments.

Since 2017 I offer my consulting service as an employee of Capgemini.

Training

As a fellow member of the International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA) I contribute content to their meetings and publications. The ISPMA is an open non-profit organization that establishes SPM as a discipline in both academia and industry.

I also offer trainings for selected topics of ISPMA’s Software Product Management framework.

Brief history of my professional career

For more than 20 years I have been working in the digital economy. I worked for the first internet agencies in the 90’s, survived the New Economy crash and learned how to transform business in large enterprises.

For a German loyalty program with a reach of 18 million households I signed responsible for all digital product developments such as loyalty points redemption for digital goods and mobile coupon applications – before the first iPhone entered the market. I was also in charge for Germany’s first successful electronic gift card distribution platform „Cardiso“.

In the innovation unit of Deutsche Telekom I was – among other things – involved in shaping the B2B2C platform concept of Telekom’s approach for the smart home business.

After all these years I’m still excited about the ongoing digital change – and still able to avoid buzzwords.
